If you want the option with full provincial oversight and protections, that is PlayNow.com (run by BCLC). As a government-run service its funds and dispute handling sit under provincial accountability, and proceeds support public services. It is the only online casino actually regulated in British Columbia. The trade-off is a smaller game range than the international market.
PlayNow has deep roots here: BCLC launched it in 2004 for lottery sales and, in July 2010, added casino games, making it the first legal online casino in Canada. BCLC's GameSense responsible-gambling program, now used across the country, also began in BC. That head start is why PlayNow's platform was later licensed to Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
